I am a 25 year old autistic woman, formally diagnosed with autism at 24. I am currently pursuing a masters in Political Science, with research focusing on the experience of late autism diagnosis in adult women, based on the understanding that women are severely under diagnosed with autism in childhood. My initial exploration of myself in relation to autism began when I was 20, and quickly consumed my whole life. For now, I am simply trying to create a place where autistic women can feel seen and heard, but long term I hope to create an expansive network of resources for neurodivergent women, helping them better understand themselves, and move away from the deep shame we tend to internalize.
